About LOCHURST
Established in 1989, Lochurst is located in Pfafftown, North Carolina 27040. Pfafftown is incorporated within the city limits of Winston-Salem. Our adjoining communities are Clemmons, Lewisville, Old Town, Bethania, King, Rural Hall, and Tobaccoville.
Lochurst is situated within an outstanding school district – Vienna Elementary, Lewisville Middle, and Reagan High schools. Lochurst currently has 201 homes situated on rolling hills and surrounded by three natural spring lakes. The lakes are surrounded by homes and stocked with fish for the homeowner who enjoys fishing. Our lakes are homes for Canada geese and Mallard ducks and a variety of birds and wildlife. It is common to see deer roaming through your yard at night.
Lochurst is managed by an internal Homeowner’s Association Board and supported by registered covenants. Our covenants are designed to protect your property and your investment in your home. Annual dues are payable each May and our current dues are $500.00 per year. The Lochurst water and sewer system is supported by Winston Salem / Forsyth County Utilities. Duke Energy is the electricity provider, Spectrum Cable TV, and Spectrum or Windstream for Internet.
Originally, the land within Lochurst was a large dairy farm called Grandview and was owned by the Fowler family. Grandview was a community within Pfafftown and the Grandview water tower still stands in the heart of Lochurst.
Lochurst has wonderful family amenities: our playground is located in a large mowed area – a 125,000 gallon pool that has been updated several times over the years – a covered pavilion adjoining the pool – lakes for fishing and canoe rides – two freshly painted tennis courts and over 2.5 miles of streets to walk or bike. Our grounds within Lochurst are managed by contracted landscapers and financed entirely through a portion of our annual dues.
Numerous church denominations are nearby to Lochurst. Additionally, Lochurst is located close to CG Hill Memorial Park, Bethabara Park, and Bethania which offers hiking and biking trails and additional outdoor leisure activities. The Muddy Creek Greenway is near completion offering miles of walking, running, and biking along the banks of Muddy Creek.
